During my lazy Sunday, I was finally able to watch the new episode of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ that aired on Thursday night. Like many people, I was starting to lose faith in the show last season. However, this episode did some much needed redeeming work, in my opinion. I was incredibly entertained with the new love interest for Cristina. I never really liked her relationship with Burke. I adore how no nonsense she is. Her unconventional injury was a little too silly, but I guess that is Grey’s for you. The storyline with the three women and their husbands was heartbreaking, but why so much cheating, everywhere? I am not in a stage in my life where I blindly believe in happy endings and that no one ever cheats on anyone and you have the same passion for the same person for 50 years, but cheating seems to poison everything, everywhere lately. Perhaps I am just hypersensitive to it or something. The element of the women’s friendship was a nice aspect though. I love George. Meredith is kind of bugging me.

I was excited that Michael Phelps was going to host the season premiere of SNL. The key word in that previous sentence is “was”. What a sad letdown! Now I know athletes are not actors, but still, it wasn’t as nearly as hilarious as I thought it would be. Tina Fey stole the show in my opinion. Now, this week’s episode was a nice surprise to see the music guest, Kings of Leon. They sound so great live. Ever since I met him, my boyfriend has been trying to convert me to a fan. James Franco wasn’t so great. He couldn’t even play a stoner correctly! (In the agent 420 skit.) I have high hopes for Anna Faris and musical guest Duffy next week. Here’s hoping they make up for the past two weeks disappointment!

I like The Office, I really do. I’m just very behind on the whole thing, much to the dismay of my boyfriend. I enjoy every episode I watch and am very entertained. Sometimes I even laugh so hard and unexpectedly, that I snort! I just haven’t watched the series since the beginning or even in order enough to know who is who, their character history, who they are really dating on the show. So whenever I sit down to watch an episode, I feel like I end up annoying my boyfriend with my bombardment of questions. I am going to put “catch up on The Office” on my every increasing to-do list.

Every now and then an artist comes along and completely shatters what you thought you knew about music and how it can make you feel. For me, this artist is Brandi Carlile and four years ago when I saw her for the first time I was so touched and blown away by her music, I was incredibly thankful for the chance to get to see her before she made it “big”. Keep in mind I saw her in tiny California venues before she was signed. It is bittersweet to see how she has completely blown up; I wanted her to be a little fiery secret to keep with a few close friends, and yet she SO deserves the recognition she is getting. Yesterday, I stumbled upon her cover of “Creep” on iTunes. I have heard this cover before, but the one released yesterday gave me goose bumps, it is so incredible.
