I caught a little bit of the Golden Globes tonight. I haven’t seen a lot of the nominated movies, but it was still kind of entertaining to have on in the background while I was doing dishes and cleaning up dinner. (Yes I actually cooked tonight! It’s a miracle.) I’ve been wanting to see ‘Revolutionary Road’ despite the heavy and depressing subject matter because I think Kate and Leo have the kind of rare chemistry that jumps off the screen at you. I loved watching Kate win; she seemed like she really was surprised and grateful. I was also incredibly giddy to see Mickey Rourke win even though I haven’t seen ‘The Wrestler’ yet. He is such a welcome breath of fresh air in hollywood. I’ve been wanting to see Slumdog Millionaire as well, so it was great to see that win!
Also, like my new header? I made it the other day while experimenting. Can you tell I can’t wait for it to be spring?

Ever since they started to heavily promote ‘Bride Wars’ on TBS during Sex and the City commercials, I decided it was a fluff, chick flick I would happily get suckered into going to see. (Despite the fact I am a 25 year old female, I tend to shy away from cliche chic flicks.) I am gearing up for Sundance as well, so I have felt like going to movies with more substance than the typical offering hollywood has. Anyway, I have adored Kate Hudson since 2000, seeing her shine in ‘Almost Famous’. She was so brilliant as Penny Lane! I was incredibly excited to see ‘Bride Wars’ last night. My awesome boyfriend even went along with my silly plans. I felt bad, but he knew what he was getting himself into! I had prepared myself for a light, fluffy, sugar coated but fun, girl movie. It was even worse than my very low expectations! The lines were so predictable it seemed like it was written over a weekend. And the ending? It was so bad it came across like they wrote it while they were filming. The only saving grace was that they did pick some good songs. I was really bummed afterwards, I really wanted to like this movie!
